SUMMARY:Ivor Cutler and the Shinytribe: A double bill of songs and stories performed by Tim Dalling\, plus Nev Clay
DESCRIPTION:Buy tickets\n\n\n\n\nIvor Cutler and the Shinytribe: A double bill of songs and stories performed by Tim Dalling. \n\n\n\nThe first half: “Help I Think I’m Turning Into Ivor Cutler” Tim’s tribute to the great folk-surrealist Ivor Cutler\, hero of the Beatles (he was Buster Bloodvessel\, the bus conductor in the Magical Mystery Tour) and John Peel (he was a regular doing sessions for Peel in the 70s and 80s). Beautiful\, hilarious and weird songs performed as Ivor did accompanied with pedal-organ. \n\n\n\nThe second half: “Songs of the Shinytribe”  is a set of songs and stories\, written and performed by Tim Dalling\, accordionist\, performer\, songwriter and theatre-maker. His funky accordion and soulful voice have been likened to a cross between Randy Newman and Ivor Cutler. It is a celebration of birth\, death\, rituals\, hares and dancing trees. Come along and be ready to laugh and cry. \n\n\n\nLocal singer – songster Nev Clay will open the evening at 7.30pm. Nev has a great reputation as a classy musician & as a genuinely lovely and particularly talkative performer. Nev comes over the water from Longbenton to play for Jumpin Hot Club and has actually been playing for us\, for well over two decades now.

SUMMARY:Dead of Night
DESCRIPTION:Dead of Night by Peter Whalley \n\n\n\nJack has just been acquitted of manslaughter\, and regales his girlfriend Maggie and their neighbours with a disparaging account of the trial.  According to the evidence (most of it Jack’s)\, the victim\, Philip Mercer\, had broken in late at night\, and\, on being confronted by Jack\, produced a gun which Jack got hold of during the ensuing struggle and then used to kill Mercer.  \n\n\n\nA clear case of self-defence.  Or was it?
