Progressive Players donate £3537 to local NHS charities

Local NHS charities have benefitted from the donation of 50% of ticket revenue from the Progressive Player's October 2021 production 'Lockdown in Little Grimley'.

This was the first production at the Little Theatre since February 2020 when the venue was temporarily closed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

In David Tristram's production, the cast decide to stage a show and donate the proceeds to the NHS and it was felt appropriate that this gesture was repeated in real life. The Progressive Players have donated half of all ticket revenue combined with a nightly bucket collection from patrons, totalling £3537.

The money has been shared between: the HPB (Hepato Pancreato Biliary) Centre, Cragside Court at the QE (specialised services for over 65s with dementia), Chasing the Stigma (Mental Health) and the Shine Fund

Tickets for this production were 'pay-what-you-want' and this scheme will be repeated for the November production 'The Signalman'.
