The hilarious story of two teenage girls in a small Durham mining village during the Miners’ Strike in 1984.
Julie and Lisa are best friends, coming of age in Easington Colliery. Whilst their parents’ lives are being torn apart by the devastation of the strike, the girls are focussed on a comical, crackpot criminal scheme to meet their idol and crush, the formidable union leader Arthur Scargill. But what happens when the challenges and the impacts of the strike come closer to home? Can their friendship survive? Will they get to meet Arthur?
