Delays for traffic heading into Gateshead from the Tyne Bridge are very likely at present; there may also be issues affecting the A184 Felling Bypass as it joins the A167.
As motorists find alternative routes, we anticipate that traffic issues will spill out onto other roads, and we cannot rule out congestion starting to affect roads across the wider Gateshead area. There is a risk that traffic queueing on the A167 northbound will cause disruption further south towards the theatre.
